This is not really good for Search Engine Optimization (SEO). For better SEO it is important that the title of your post come first before your blog title for better search engine traffic, So in this tutorial I will be showing you how to do that.

Why Change Title Tags

It is important to have your post title and blog title displayed appropriately because this is how you will want your blog to be displayed in goggle's search results. All we all know, When people search the web, they do not really care about which blog appears on the search engine, what they care about is the solution to what they are looking for and If your Blog title shows first before post title that might be a disadvantage. But If your post title appears first it will give you an edge because the post title is more relevant than your blog title.

How to Change the Titles

• Log into your Dashboard
• In the drop down menu click on Template
• Click on Back up/Restore and download template to be on a safe side
• Click on Edit HTML
• Click on Format Template
• Search for the code "<title><data:blog.pageTitle/></title>"
• Replace Tag with the following codes below :

<b:if cond='data:blog.pageType == &quot;index&quot;'> <title>

<data:blog.title/></title> <b:else/> <title><data:blog.pageName/>

| <data:blog.title/></title></b:if>

• Save Template
• This process may take a few days for the changes to show up on Google search result but i guarantee more traffic is ensured once you are re-indexed.
