Alot of us are tired of Facebook notifications and also app requests sent to us from friends. In this post today, I will be showing you how to block those unwanted notifications and app requests sent to us from friends that are really annoying most times.
The feature is not new on facebook but most people do not know how to use it and a blogger friend recently told me that he gets nothing less than 500 notifications whenever he logs into his facebook account. Hence I know this tutorial will help him and others who do not already know how to do this.
How to block Unwanted Facebook Notifications made by Apps
Getting a notification about things that might interest you on facebook is cool but excess of it is bad especially those made by apps. So here is how to stop this :- Go to your facebook Homepage/news feed
- Click on the global icon at the top right corner just before Home. Again click on see all from the menu that will appear.
- Now click on Notification Settings
- Now click on Edit in App request and activity, under what you get notified about
Then close when you are done. This will block the requests and activities of the applications you have installed on your facebook account.
You can also block requests from applications that you have never used before once you get notifications from them. All you need to do is listed below :
- Click on ht global icon(notification) like you did in 1 above
- Then just beside the app notification, click on "x" to turn the app off.

How to Block friends for inviting you to an app or Block a particular app on facebook
With this method you can manage the application requests sent by a particular friend or simply block a particular application from your facebook account . Here is how to do this below :- Log into your facebook account
- Click on the gear icon at the top right corner
- On the drop down menu, click on settings
- On the left sidebar, click on blocking
Under block app invites , in the space provide besides "block users" enter the name or email address of the friend you want to block and you have automatically ignore future app requests from that friend.
You can also block a particular friend from sending app requests to you by Enter his/her name under Block event invites.
You can also block apps by simply entering the app name on the space provide on block app from the screenshot above, and thats it.
