The Latest Patents given to apple has revealed that solar cells may soon be in apple devices.
Apple appears to be creating a new device that would let natural light in and absorb energy via solar cells into it's devices. The key component in the patent is Smart Glass, or electrochromic glass. Acting like sunglasses, the glass can fluctuate its translucency to filter in light.
The idea is to have a layer of photovoltaic cells that are found in solar panels that absorb energy, located behind the LCD screen on the back of the device to work with the smart glass.
The smart glass has the ability to sense when natural light is created and can filter more light into the device, the solar cells would absorb more energy when needed and available. This gives new meaning to the term "smart device".
Apple was also granted a patent for rare facing touch controls, a design made with a game-user in mind. This controls would give rest to a gamer when playing games on an Ipad or Iphone and gives the feeling of a real game controller.
Lastly, Apple may be experimenting with cellular connected devices, like laptop running on a cellular network. Apple just recently celebrated 30 years of mac's but it seems they are not tired of bringing in new innovations.
