How to Create your Own BBM Channel

Hi Friends, Today I will be sharing a tip on something I know you will like. Few days ago on facebook, My boss Jide Ogunsanya of  Ogbongeblog asked some bloggers in bloggerslab to drop their bbm channel pin and some members, about 80% where dropping their bbm pins instead of channels id, hence I decided to write this post to help them.

 

What is BBM Channel?

BBM Channel is a new feature on Blackberry messenger that enables you communicate and connect easily with other people, brands and communities. It helps you have real conversations with people across the world whether you are engaging with others on other BBM channels, creating your own BBM channel or connecting with both new and old BBM channel contacts. For Example if you are a football fan, you can join the BBM channel of your favourite team and get all the latest news about your team. BBM Channels works with the latest versions of BBM for Blackberry 10, Blackberry OS, Android and Iphone.

 

How to Create A BBM Channel

To create a BBM Channel, Visit the BBM Channels manager website

• Click on Create Channel
• Provide the necessary Information such as Channel name, Channel Category,  Channel display picture, age and any other optional field you might choose and click on Save
• You can also customize your BBM Channel settings by thicking the box beside your desired options and save.
• Now you have successfully created your BBM Channel, you can invite your BBM contacts and share your channel pin and Barcode with them. Your Channel pin is displayed at the top-left corner just beside the channel display picture.

How to Find and Participate in Other BBM Channels

Finding other BBM channels is easy as long as you have the latest version of BBM for all bbm enabled devices. All you need to do is open your BBM, and tap the menu icon on the bottom-left corner and select channels. You will be shown a collection of featured channels and posts that might interest you and you can also search for other channels. when you find a channel you will like to join, tap on it and you can use the Preview button to take a peep at the contents in the channel.  Then you can tap the Join+ along the button on your screen, you can also comment on posts within the channel, invite BBM contacts to a channel, as well as chat with the channel owner, and view channel display picture.

After Joining channels, notifications will be sent to you often whenever something new is posted on the channel or whenever someone likes your comment or when you get replies to your comment. To be able to view channel notifications, tap the icon on the bottom-left corner of your screen followed by tapping the globe icon along the top of your screen.


NOTE : You can manage your BBM Channel through your device or BBM Channels manager website.
