Four UK cities will be testing Driverless Cars in 2015

2015 will definitely be a year that will mark the beginning of future technologies.

There are lots of Driverless cars on the road around Europe but according to reports, four more cities will be joining the parade.

BBC reported Today on three different plans to test Driverless pods/vehicles in four cities in UK. In Milton Keynes and Coventry, UK autodrive will test small driverless pods in walkways called LUTZ Pathfinders.

Bristol will play host to the Venturer Consortium, a program which aims to help UK to be at the forefront of transformational technology and also to help reduce congestion and make roads safer.

Greenwich, South East London, is set to run the gateway scheme which will be led by the Transport Research Consultancy, alongside General motors, AA and AAC motoring associations. According to BBC site, It plans to carry out test of automated passenger shuttle Vehicles as well as autonomous valet parking for adapted cars and a self-drive car stimulator will make use of a photorealistic 3D model of the area to study how people react to sharing the driving of a vehicle with its computer.

The test is scheduled to begin on the 1st of January and will last for 18 to 36 months.

Internet Giants Google has been working on Driverless Cars for some time now and testing them on Silicon Valley but it's always a welcomed development to see more than one Company carrying out a research like this one.
