A new and very cool app called Qork, launches today. This app hopes to create a place for people to easily share news, events and other contents happening around their environment.
CEO Adam May said Qork was inspired by his experience as a journalist at inside New York, where he struggled to find a place or a way to get local news and events happening around. He also said he looked at Reddit and Twitter which are great for finding contents of interest as well as discoveries but are not cool when it comes to finding local contents.

When opened, the app is similar to Reddit at first, it allows users to write and submit posts with images as well as attach a location for sharing. Stories shared appears on the map and keeps growing in size depending on how much interactions the story gets.
If users shares a story about what is happening around their community, Qork helps others know exactly what is going on. The app aims at making people feel more connected and in touch with whatever is happening around their local community, calling itself "the town square for digital age". The app is still in it's early stages but if the company pulls this one off properly, it could be a very easy way for people to connect with what is happening around them easily without going anywhere to get the news but one of its greatest asset is its events functionality.
From today Qork will be readily available on Android and iOS.
