E16 error is a common error on Dstv which usually appears as a result of expired subscription but in some cases it does appear during active subscription. So below are 2 methods you can use is to clear E16 error in a case where your subscription is still active,so you can restore viewing on your decoder.

Note : Before attempting to clear E16 error on your Dstv, make sure your decoder is On.
Here are the 2 Methods you can use below :
RA leave a space then enter the first 10 digits of your smart card number and send to 30333
For Example : RA 4132040728 to 30333 where 4132040728 is your smart card number.
NB : Dstv smartcard numbers are normally 11 digits but you are required to send just 10 digits and not 11 digits.

- Fill in your Smart Card Number
- Select the type of error message you choose to clear, in this case E16
- Enter the Captcha code you where given then click "Clear Error" .
