How To Clear The E-017 Error on Your GoTv

If you are a GOTV user, I guess by now you would have experienced E-017 error as it has become popular on GOTV decoders these days. I made payment for my GOTV subscription few days before the expiry date but to my greatest surprise, viewing was stopped on my decoder on the due date of my current subscription despite the payment I made at their office and it was not funny at all because I hate been idol when am not working and I normally relax watching maybe a movie or music.

I tried contacting their customer care but I was experiencing a very bad network difficulty and could not get through to them so I had had to send them a mail but I never got a reply and am yet to confirm if they even got the mail. So the Next day. I had to revisit the Multichoice office where I made my payment and the problem was resolved and my subscription was reactivated. Here is How to Clear the E-017 Error on your GOTV decoder.








There 2 Methods you can use to Clear E-017 error

First Method
Make sure your subscription is active i.e make sure you have a running subscription that has not expired, then pick up your phone and send a reactivation sms

Send RESET IUC NUMBER as a text to 4688 for example RESET 2005029500 to 4688 (where 2005029500 is your IUC number).

Note : This method is highly effective during Multichoice working hours which is 8a.m -7p.m, so it is advisable you use this method during that time.

You can get your IUC NUMBER on the Red label under your decoder.

Second Method
This second method is resolving the issue by contacting GOTV customer care on phone.The GOTV customer care line is 012703232. I will advice you have enough airtime on your phone before using this method because you will have to be put on queue if there are no agents available to attend to you at that time but once there are agents available, the machine will forward your call to the agent available.

Note : You may listen to the Voice message but do not follow it, just hold on until an agent is available to attend to you.
